India is a fascinating colourful country which is undergoing a very interesting cultural, economic and environmental revolution. It is this 'revolution' we will investigate in this unit starting of with:



What is India like? -

This is what I call a 'photopack lesson'. The students get a copy of photos from either North, Central or Southern India and climate data for the associated region. The students using the photos have to describe the landscape, climate, population density and urban living.



Everything comes from India!! -

To start off with we will look at a question of India based on the pictureboard round from a Question of Sport!! -

Using the survey from Teaching Geography Today we investigate our perceptions and knowlegde of what India is like and does evrything really come from India?

Particularly useful is the Simpsons episode entitled ' Homer and Apu' - Try and watch it!!
